Zack Davisson
Manga Translator, Writer, and Scholar
Zack Davisson is a manga translator and a writer and scholar of Japanese folklore and ghosts. He is the author of Yurei: The Japanese Ghost and The Ghost of Oyuki from Chin Music Press and a contributing writer to Weird Tales and Wayward from Image Comics. As a manga translator, he translates Shigeru Mizuki’s manga for Drawn and Quarterly, including the Eisner-nominated Showa: A History of Japan, and for Dark Horse Comics he translates Satoshi Kon and Mamoru Oshii’s manga, including OPUS and Seraphim: 266613336 Wings. He was also a researcher and on-screen talent for National Geographic’s TV special Okinawa: The Lost Ghosts of Japan and maintains the popular Japanese folklore website Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai
